Japan’s White Mountaineering presents its 2012 Spring/Summer collection, entitled “Dune Rover.” The brand continues to impress, with Yosuke Aizawa (onetime assistant to Junya Watanabe) expertly blending technical materials, premium construction and elevated design to craft a unique vision inspired by travel and the great outdoors. The result is an aesthetic in which style and utility are demonstrably in league with each other. The perfect example is the outerwear — built with Pertex Shield DV event fabric that fuses technically advanced materials with a breathable waterproof ePTFE film laminate — that appears on the surface to be made from traditional materials adorned with a herringbone or plaid pattern. They-re joined by an assortment of cardigan sweaters and woven shirts, as well as shirring pants and tees, all featuring a low-profile color palette made up neutral shades. Haven has the first delivery of White Mountaineering’s Spring 2012 collection in stock now.
