2013 Volvo V40

By - February 28th, 2012

With its go-kart ethos and aggressive styling, little wonder why folks at Volvo couldn’t keep their new Volvo V40 under wrap. After numerous images and video unofficially surfaced on the Internet over the last few days. Volvo finally relent on the details. Set to officially debut on the floors of Geneva Motor Show, the new Volvo V40 for model year 2013 will feature the several powertrain options, including a low-emission diesel engine, a first for Volvo. For those who needs a bit more speed, there is the T5 variant with a turbocharged 254 horsepower behemoth under the hood.

When Chinese car maker Zhejiang Geely Holding Group, a company with less than stellar reputation on safety, brought the Volvo Cars division from Ford back in 2010, many car buyers worried about its future. As reassurance, the Volvo V40 will be made at the company’s plant in Belgium. It also added several safety innovations onto the V40 design, including the Pedestrian Detection system with Full Auto Brake during speed lower than 31 mph. More information to come on March 6th at the start of the Geneva Motor Show.
