Back when wingtips and fedora were the standard issue for every gentlemen, the Jazz Age of the 1930s was one of decadence juxtaposed with pre-WW2 innocence. In reliving that era, iconic footwear designer Tinker Hatfield created the original concept to the Air Jordan 2012 Deluxe. Now, the sketches that became the basis of AJ2012 will be realize as well in the form of special editions. A real-life facsimile, the Tinker Hatfield Original Design Edition (aka Tinker’s AJ 2012) will include Hatfield’s favorite colorway, matte finishes instead of pearlized ones, and a custom emblem of the dragon in reference to Hatfield’s birth year (born in the Year of the Dragon). The special edition also includes his initials as well as the two inner sleeves, three midsole options, and the myriad custom variations found on Air Jordan 2012 Deluxe. Set for release at select Jordan Brand retailers this Wednesday, March 14th.
