http://reebok.com” target=”_blank”>Reebok just can’t catch a break recently. With just days to go before the end of its 10-year contract as the official uniform supplier to the http://nfl.com” target=”_blank”>NFL, the Canton-base company got hit with a lawsuit by http://nike.com” target=”_blank”>Nike. Filed through federal court in New York City yesterday, the suit claimed Reebok used quarterback http://timtebow.com” target=”_blank”>Tim Tebow‘s name without authorization from Nike, which takes over the role of NFL uniform supplier this Sunday, April 1st. All this stemmed from Tebow’s March 21st trade from the Denver Broncos to the http://newyorkjets.com” target=”_blank”>New York Jets, which sent New York football fans into Tebow-Mania for merchandises related to the #15. Last year, Tebow’s http://denverbroncos.com” target=”_blank”>Denver Broncos jersey was second highest selling in the league, just behind http://packers.com” target=”_blank”>Green Bay Packers Aaron Rodgers, the league’s MVP. All indicators point to a dramatic increase in the sale of Tebow gear this year. Nike is seeking an injunction on merchandises sale, compensations for damages, punitive damages, and legal fees. No comments from Reebok at this time.
