2012 Red Hook Criterium | Event Recap

Perhaps many may have already speculated that Dan Chabanov, then two time champion of Red Hook Criterium, would in fact take the winning spot at the latest race. Although the other riders were definitely not backing off from the challenge and gave their all last Saturday night. The unsanctioned street race in Brooklyn got underway with around 30 riders competing from all around the country and around the globe. It wasn’t all smooth sailing for the competitors as there were some spills and crashes adding to the already high energy event. In the end though Chabanov took the win when he gained momentum from the 4th lap dropping everyone else behind. Rainier Schaefer did his best to keep up and snatched the second place, closely followed by Evan Murphy who came in third. Check out the event photos by John Watson after the jump.
