Co-founded by Chinese pop star Zhou “Bibi” Bichang, fashion boutique Begins set itself apart from its Beijing peers with product offerings more vivacious in color and design, namely this new collaboration with New Balance. Based on the New Balance 574 Sonic, an ultra-lightweight design made through New Balance’s proprietary “sonic weld” process, the collaborative model invokes a sense of tropical getaway with its turquoise suede and mesh upper. That ambiance of relaxation continues on to the midsole portion, where a slight hint of natural cork appears around the heel. Finally, a dash of zest in the shape of orange heel tab brighten the design further. Limited in volumes, the Begins x New Balance 574 Sonic is now available at CALIROOTS‘ SIX FEET DOWN and select New Balance retailers around the globe
