Specialized Turbo e Bike

With gas prices teetering on the brink of five dollars a gallon, it’s no surprise that electric bikes are gaining in popularity. Specialized introduces one of the fastest models available on the market, the Turbo e-Bike. Constructed from alloy and equipped with a 250W electric hub motor powered by a 342Wh Li-Ion battery in the downtube, the bike is capable of speeds up to an impressive 28 miles per hour. It’s built with a tapered head tube, internal routing cables, oversized alloy forks and integrated computer system. One small catch — the bike is too fast for U.S. e-bike speed laws so there won’t be a stateside release. For European commuters who want to truck around town in one, they’ll have to plunk down €5,499 ($7,100). Click through for more looks. via: Bike Reviews
