SNEAKERCUBE by Pawel Nolbert

We’ve seen plenty of interesting art projects centered around the theme of sneaker design over the past few years, the latest of which comes courtesy of Poland-based graphic artist Pawel Nolbert. His ongoing Sneakercube series combines a love of sneakers with graphic design. In the words of Pawel himself, “Simply, I take a sneaker that I love and I re-envision it as a cube.” It’s a simple conceit with novel results. The individual sneakers — and accompanying cubes — comprise lifestyle kicks from the worlds of sport and high fashion: the Vans Mid Skool 77 CA, Christian Louboutin Studded “Louis,” Common Projects S/S10 Achilles, Neil Barrett A/W10 Quilted Tweed Sneaker, Rick Owens Anthem Contrasting Lace-Up Sneaker, Trussardi 1911 F/W09 Camo Sneaker, New Balance 1500 and Raf Simons Yellow Astronaut. Check ‘em all out in the gallery below.
