Wow – Bo Jackson is a busy, but very giving man. In addition to his key role in the fight against Dr. Deflation, on April 23 Bo began a 5-day, 300 mile ride across Alabama to raise $1 million for communities in his home state who were in the wake of a series of ravaging tornadoes. The money raised on his ride and at the auction following the trip on April 28 will go to the Governor’s Emergency Relief Fund to help with currently unmet needs. Nike is helping outfit Bo for the ride with special commemorative colorways of the new Nike LunarTR1 silhouette, which he will wear during the journey, demonstrating just how flexible it is for multi-sport training. Additional Nike stars, including Ken Griffey Jr., Scottie Pippen, Picabo Street, and Lance Armstrong will also help keep Bo company along his ride across the state and will attend the April 28th auction event at the Tuscaloosa Amphitheater where all supporters will celebrate those affected by the disaster. The colorways featured here will not be available outside of the auction so try to find a way to get there; otherwise the shoe will officially launch worldwide on June 29. Head to Bo Bikes Bama to follow him along, donate to his cause, and find out how to get involved.
