Remembering Adam MCA Yauch: 12 Great Songs | By Dante Ross

By now, the news that the world lost Adam ‘MCA’ Yauch from the Beastie Boys to cancer has begun to settle in, along with the realization that we will never be able to hear him kick it live again. To hundreds of thousands of fans and artists around the globe, the impact and legacy that he has left on the music industry is now also a source of comfort and celebration in remembrance of a talented, giving, and fun-loving guy. Dante Ross, who first met Yauch at age 15 over a shared love of punk rock, chose to express his loss in a way that Yauch would enjoy and would greatly appreciate – by sharing some of his favorite MCA moments with the world. It’s true that Ross had quite the task ahead of him, but, all told, his 12 selections really show the moments that MCA was really owning the mic with some of the best rhymes ever heard alongside two of his ‘inseparable brothers from different mothers.’ Pull up a comfy chair and crank your speakers up to 11 because its time to get ill with Ross’ most outstanding Yauch moments, beginning with 1986’s “Paul Revere.” via: Complex
