AROE – Adam “MCA’ Yauch Tribute Wall | England

By - May 14th, 2012

One surprising consequence of the passing of Beastie Boy Adam “MCA” Yauch on May 4th was reflected in the Billboard 200: the Beastie Boys‘ 1986 debut album Licensed to Ill reentered the chart, landing in the no. 18 spot. The cover art from the landmark album was the inspiration for a mural created by UK-based artist AROE of the Heavy Artillery crew as a tribute to the fallen Beastie Boy. Measuring 64 feet long and 12 feet high, the piece is stunning a reinterpretation of the first rap album to hit No. 1 on the Billboard chart, and a fitting a tribute to the hip hop pioneer. via: FRESHNGOOD
