Volkswagen Beetle Fender Edition Officially Unveiled

Here in the States, the practical application of Volkswagen‘s partnership with Fender translates into a premium sound system for the Jetta GLI. In Europe, the beneficiary of the high-end audio package is the Beetle. Accordingly, Volkswagen is set to debut a special Fender Edition Beetle at the Leipzig Auto Show. The vehicle is equipped with a 200-horsepower, 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine, along with standard features that include 18-inch “Disc” aluminum wheels and bi-xenon headlamps. Deep Black Metallic paint, accented with chrome Fender emblems at the base of the A pillars, round out the exterior details. The cabin is fitted with a 400-watt Fender audio system with nine speakers, subwoofer and four deluxe tweeters, as well as a painted dash in a unique Sunburst tone reminiscent of the finished wood used on Fender electric guitars. The Beetle Fender Edition will make it to dealers’ showrooms in the U.S. sometime in the fall. via: Autoblog
