Tinker Hatfield’s 1987 Nike Lunar Safari was years ahead of its time, so much so that Nike left the majority of the design alone in this rework deciding only to integrate the latest in sneaker technology to its overall look. The classic lines of the shoe’s upper have been streamlined using Nike’s ultra-breathable, no-sew Hyperfuse composite material, while the Nike Air sole has been replaced with the comfortable Lunarlon sole with Phylon cushioning. Nike+ capability rounds out the technological upgrades of this legendary sneaker. The Luna Safari Fuse+ is expected to hit Nike Sportswear retailers in July in Black/White/Crimson, Anthracite/Volt, and Black/Anthracite/Dynamic Blue. Pre-orders are open now at the UK’s end clothing.
