Portland’s Grove – makers of bamboo cases for iPhones and Macbooks – have introduced a new collaboration with the jewelry-makers at MapleXO on an environmental friendly add-on for your iPhone 4/4s. The SkateBack Case uses waste material and scraps from a local skateboard factory, PS Stix of Costa Mesa, CA, to give a unique and colorful look to your favorite gadget. These hand-crafted cases come in your choice of three different color schemes, which fit overthe back of the iPhone, keeping it safe from scuffs and scratches. Each of them are available now through Grove’s online store for $49 with a 2-4 week lead time needed to build each one. Check out more looks of the cases after the jump and a interesting look into how Grove makes treasure from another man’s trash.
