Ahead of the Euro 2012 championship, Arsenal defender Thomas Vermaelen is profiled in a short film by British photographer and filmmaker Sharif Hamza. Shot in London using long lenses and handheld cameras, the video follows the dynamic action almost from an opposing player’s perspective, as Vermaelen moves in and out of the frame, showcasing his footwork while an unseen crowd cheers him on. The player is outfitted in looks from the fall/winter collections of his fellow Belgians — Ann Demeulemeester, Kris Van Assche, Dries Van Noten and Tim Coppens, Raf Simons and Maison Martin Margiela.
