2013 McLaren MP4 12C

Summer is starting to heat up with spy shots of the new McLaren MP4-12C supercar, which received a range of updates for 2013. First, and most important for many, is the boost in horsepower from 592 to 615, a 24-horse bump through engine-remapping that drops a full tenth of a second off its quarter mile time, 10.6, and increases its top speed to 207. The 2013 will also come with a modified transmission for a crisper throttle response and faster, smoother shifts while still retaining the supercar’s 24.2 combined MPG rating. On the exterior, a vehicle lift system is in place that can raise the speedster 40 mm in the front and 25 mm in the rear to help with those tricky driveway exits. McLaren also installed a new toy called the Intake Sound Generator, which pipes a user-defined amount of sound from the 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged V6 into the cabin to enhance the driving experience, which, along with the naturally textured leather interior, push-button doors, automatic headlamps, and five-spoke forged wheels, should definitely do the trick. Last, but not least, McLaren hasn’t forgot about its current owners: dealers will offer any of their current MP4-12C drivers no-cost upgrades that will put your ride back on top. via: CarScoop
