Touch screen texting can be a vexing undertaking at times, as more and more of the global population is finding out as smart phones become ever more pervasive. A Northern California-based company called Tactus Technology is offering a solution to users (and our weary thumbs) with something seemingly straight out of a sci-fi movie: a keyboard that transforms from flatscreen to tactile physical buttons that rise and fall as needed. Introduced on a prototype Android tablet at this week’s SID 2012 in Boston, the screen uses microfluidic technology to make the transparent keys appear and disappear. Tactus says this groundbreaking morphing touch screen can appear on devices starting in 2013. Check out a video overview below. via: designboom
