A new collection of work by Dave White will be unveiled in association with limited-edition gallery artrepublic hosted at London’s The Hospital Club on June 22nd. The exhibition, White’s largest to-date, will comprise a series of large-scale installation of oil paintings, works on paper, and other limited editions that explore threatened animal species from around the world, presented in his trademark dynamic, colorful, and charged style. To White, the series represents “the beauty, majesty and magnificence of incredibly rare animals” whose very existence hangs in the balance. At first glance, the works seem like simple profiles of the animals, but through the movement of White’s brush, we can see more emotion and complexity in the faces and bodies of his subjects. Simply put, White wants the world to face the fact that humans directly impact these animals’ very survival and we have the power to change their lives.
