Nike Rivington Court – Opening Party with Theophilus London | Event Recap

By - June 25th, 2012

Much thanks to the popularity of the first World Basketball Festival in 2010, the City of New York will once again host a slew of sporting events coordinated by Nike this summer. One of these programs is the newly established Nike Rivington Court at the heart of New York City’s Lower East Side. Assemblied on the grounds of LES Preparatory High School, Rivington Court offers bleacher style seating, electronic score keeping system, as well as lighting for night games and more, all on top of laminated wood flooring like the ones you’ll find on actual basketball stadium. While the Rivington Court’s overall scale isn’t as large as the one at Rucker Park during WBF, the venue does offer plenty amenities for visitors and players alike. To mark its official opening yesterday, organizers set up an exhibition game between local youth basketball groups plus a special performance by the soulful Theophilus London. Look forward to the first official summer game this Wednesday afternoon between Team Nike I and the newly established Team Nike II.
