Washington Wizards point guard John Wall may have been drafted first overall in the 2010 NBA Draft, but in 2007 he was a sorely disappointed kid who had been cut by his high school varsity basketball team. His story — how he went from an unknown to the no. 1 recruit in the country in the span of one summer — is told through an animated short by Reebok and artist James Blagden. The visually unique film chronicles Wall’s triumph at the 2007 Reebok Breakout Underclassman Camp, leading to what amounted to the player’s coming out party at RBKU in Philadelphia. Told through first person accounts, it’s an engrossing tale of hard work and dedication leading to breakout success. Check out “John Wall’s Breakout The Animated Story” below.
