By - July 23rd, 2012

Louis Vuitton has cut the ribbons on its 16th Maison worldwide, this one taking up four floors in Shanghai’s Plaza 66. Specially designed by architect Peter Marino, who describes the space as having a “playfulness” and “femininity,” the Maison houses leather goods, luggage, ready-to-wear men’s and women’s fashions, plus watches and jewelry. Additionally, original artwork by contemporary Chinese and international artists is displayed throughout. Yves Carcell, chairman and CEO of Louis Vuitton, characterizes the Plaza 66 Maison, constructed over a period of eighteen months, as “a huge statement, for Shanghai, China, and I would say for the world.” Check out the video recap below.
