California-based inventor Claire Delaunay has created a consumer telepresence robot she's dubbed the Botiful, a device compatible with Android smartphones that allows users to interact with people in remote locations through Skype. Motion control allows the device to move around the room, its camera and microphone functioning as its eyes and ears. The device itself has three wheels and holds the phone in place with magnets, and aside from Skype video calls, users can use Botiful to inspect hard to reach places, monitor their babies or play remotely with kids. Additionally, a variety of apps will be available, including a face detection application. It's up on KICKSTARTER now. Check out a video overview below.
