The Louis Vuitton flagship on Fifth Avenue in New York has unveiled window installations designed in collaboration with the 83-year-old Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama, paying tribute to the artist’s signature motifs: “Beginning of the Universe,” “Eternal Blooming Flowers in My Mind” and “Self Obliteration.” One window is filled with floating flowers and another features a life-size figure of Kusama herself, while the entire building is covered in the artist’s signature dots. The launch of the installations corresponded with Kusama’s retrospective at the Whitney, which will run through September. Check out a “making of” video of the special window displays below.
