Nike Running has announced that its cutting-edge, lightweight performance technology that enables running shoes to be designed with a single, eco-friendly thread, known as the Flyknit, has been successfully transformed into their latest track spike, the Nike Flyknit Racer. Uniting precision fit that gives its wearer a second-skin feel with its feather-like weight (3.9 oz), Nike’s revolutionary track shoe was designed exclusively with distance runners like the United States’ 10k runner Dathan Rizenheim, in mind. With a Flashlon foam midsole that provides responsive cushioning and all-over foot support and Nike’s Dynamic flywire structure, Nike has successfully entered new design and development territory under the direcion of Global Creative Director Martin Lotti. Underneath the Flyknit Racer is a Pebax plate with four removable pins to provide lightweight support and maximize speed and a sharkskin heel pad that enhances grip and traction.
