Theophilus London is a complicated guy — a Trinidad-born rapper from New York obsessed with Morrissey (his introduction to the masses was entitled This Charming Mixtape), whose debut album was something of a genre-bending pastiche, including an R&B track, “Why Even Try,” that featured vocals from Sara Quinn (of Tegan and Sara). He has fans and detractors alike, but both camps would be hard pressed to deny the appeal of London’s smooth delivery. His plush sound gets the perfect fashion complement in the form of these velvet slippers, made by Del Toro in collaboration with the rapper himself. They feature an embroidered rose crest on the vamp, gold stars on the exterior side and “LVRS” down the grosgrain heel tab. Find them now at Del Toro’s online store.
