The LEGO Story Celebrating 80 Years of Play Well | Video

Undeterred by near financial ruins and devastating heartbreaks, Danish carpenter Ole Kirk Christiansen started by making wooden toys in 1932. Sought to make the best play things to children, Christiansen and his son Godtfred continued on with a motto “Det Bedste Er Ikke For Godt” or the “The Best Is Never Too Good”. Now, 80 years later, the LEGO System of Play helps not only children widen their imaginations but for adults to materialize their dreams as well. So in celebration of 80th birthday, LEGO is revisiting that original wood workshop in Billund, Denmark and retelling the story through this 17-minute long animation. Meanwhile, happy 80th birthday LEGO.
