Pop quiz: Who has over 700 career wins, an Olympic gold medal, four ACC tournament championships, and is a member of the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame? If you didn’t already know, the answer is the late NC State Women’s basketball coach Kay Yow who died of breast cancer in 2009. In partnership with the Cancer Fund established in Yow’s honor, Nike has released a limited edition Pink and White “Pink Ribbon” version of the Lunar Hyperdunk. Save for the broad Swoosh on the inner and outer profile and its Lunarlon foam sole all colored in a crisp white, the entire Hyperdunk, including its Flywire technology, is coated in a bubble-gum pink sure to catch an eye or two. To top off the look, Yow’s logo also takes the place of honor on the padded tongue. All together, its a fitting way to remember a giant of the game using one of Nike’s greatest demonstrations of footwear dominance. You can own your own pair by heading to mita sneaker’s online shop now.
