Dr. Martens – Applique Dayton Studded Monk Shoes

By - August 27th, 2012

Dr. Martens is off to a nice start for Fall/Winter 2012, busily reinventing itself with the help of Pendleton and Stussy before now turning their focus toward their popular monk strap. Labeled as the Applique Dayton Studded Monk shoe, these blacked-out premium leather sneakers will have you thinking twice about integrating studs into your line-up. But the rugged look of these shoes isn’t just skin deep – their smooth, durable leather is Goodyear welted to Dr. Martens’ hard-wearing and comfortable “Bouncing” sole, keeping your feet protected from the elements. The studs themselves are limited to the vamp, contained by a single strap across the bridge of the foot and are painted to tarnish and flake to create a distressed look overtime. These are available now via oki-ni’s online shop.

I spent last week in Florida for what was supposed to be a last hurrah of summer from Gucci Outlet Store ; the only problems with that plan were Tropical Storm Isaac and a wicked cold I brought from New York. What was supposed to be a week of fun in the sun ended up being a week of rest inside, but that meant more time with my family and more time to shop online. Before I left for Florida, I went to the Gucci NYC Flagship to check out their new stirrup collection and I was hooked. From the more structured options to the soft stirrup, there is something for everyone and every different lifestyle. While I ended up adding a new Gucci bag to my collection (post to come soon), there was another bag on my radar that I would have liked to add; the only problem was the price tag from Gucci Online Shopping.
