Packer Shoes does legacy releases right. With many sneaker stores just getting their feet wet, Packer Shoes, a store with almost a century of footwear experience and heritage in its own right, does releases as well as anyone in the game (see Dominique Wilkins and Larry Johnson events for examples). Yesterday saw New York City legend Patrick Ewing on hand in the quiet Teaneck neighborhood for the re-release of the cult classic, the Ewing 33 Hi. After stops at KITH and West in New York City, Ewing hopped the Hudson and visited Packer Shoes, where a throng of fans waited to purchase the shoe and meet the man himself. Many donned old school Knick Jerseys and one ambitious fan even had a multi-colored Ewing design shaved into his hair. Mike Packer graciously welcomed those who had been patiently waiting only a few at a time in order to snap photos and chat with Ewing personally. Ewing wore the white, blue, and orange model, while the red model was also flying off the shelves. The Ewing 33 Hi released at only 6 locations now with only a limited release at a few other locations across the country to follow later. With the excitement generated from this release, expect to see more Ewing releases in the future, including the blue and black models in the photos after the jump.
