An instantly recognizable style distinguishes the Los Angeles artist, Retna, from the rest of the street artists in LA and in other cities. Heavily influenced by handwriting styles of ancient and traditional civilization, such as Arabic, Persian, Hebrew, and Native American, Retna translates his vision in an almost hieroglyphic of the modern era. The Michael Kohn Gallery in Los Angeles will host his latest solo exhibition, entitled New Paintings and Works on Paper, which will display the new works from the LA native. Retna will also have the opportunity to create murals and installations on the interior and exterior of the gallery, giving viewers a visual spectacle.
Exhibition Dates: September 15, 2012 (Saturday) – October 27, 2012 (Saturday)
