PORTLAND, OR — September 5th, 2012 — One Grand Gallery, in collaboration with Musicfest Northwest, presents A Deal With the Devil, a new solo installation by Los Angeles-based graffiti artist and master of the macabre, Neck Face. The installation will feature a hybrid collection of the artist’s horror-saturated multimedia works, including signature graphic illustrations, cryptic graffiti banter and ghastly metal masks. Visitors can expect to partake in an immersive underworld experience replete with sculptural monstrosities and chaotic scribblings tempered by sharp wit and wily humor. The show is paired with a pop-up flea market peddling limited edition products emblazoned with Neck Face’s trademark imagery and taunting scrawl.

Reviled by the authorities and demanded by the galleries, Neck Face is known for his unusual transmutations of the street art genre, merging comic book-inspired graphics and bold graffiti stylings with a distinctive death metal aesthetic. Wielding deft wit, charming self-deprecation and an expert hand as his artistic tools, Neck Face has continued to surprise his audiences over a decade-long career that has seen unexpected developments at every turn. Having spent his youth plastering the landmarks and establishments of Central California with his sinister scribblings, the artist has expertly transported his hellish craft from the gutter to the gallery, gaining a cult-status notoriety in the States and beyond.

One Grand Gallery is proud to host the next iteration of Neck Face’s work at his debut Portland show. The opening reception, from 7 to 10pm on Friday, September 7th, will feature guest DJs Beer Run and ??????? â„¢, as well as an appearance by the artist himself.
