Mayor Bloomberg’s proposed ban on super-sized sodas (specifically, cups larger than 16 ounces) goes to a vote this Thursday, September 13th, at the city Board of Health. If approved (and keep in mind, board members are appointed by the mayor), the plan could go into effect as early as March. In response, Mountain Dew has partnered with the New York Art Department to launch “Prohibition: New York City,” an outdoor campaign that features giant 17oz cans of Mountain Dew.
