It is quite easy to see why there is a large proverbial chip on Derrick Rose‘s shoulder. Not long after signing a five-year contract extension worth $94.8 million with the Chicago Bulls, Rose was out of post-season playoffs because a tore ACL injury. Ahead of this coming NBA season, Rose is looking to prove himself on the courts again, though he won’t be alone. During an all-day venue today in Chicago, adidas and Rose unveiled his newest signature basketball shoe, the adidas D Rose 3.
Completely new silhouette designed and developed with Rose’s countless inputs, the D Rose 3 is by far the most advanced basketball shoe from adidas. Construct in both synthetic and nubuck leather to give a streamlined appearance, the large tongue features the new D Rose logo, a letter “D” and number “1” surrounded by three rose petals, all references to Rose’s family. Running along the toungue’s interior, an illustration of his family tree and the cross street of 73rd and Paulina in Englewood, the place where Rose grew up.
Made with adidas SPRINTWEB for a seamless breathable and lightweight support, its GEOFIT construction allows an anatomical fit while its SPRINTFRAME gives stability and support. Along with its molded EVA midsole, the contoured flex grooves on the D Rose 3’s outsole provide grip and additional support.
Retails for around US$ 160, the adidas D Rose 3 comes in Black/Running White or Aluminum/Black in its initial launch. Both will be available for purchase on Thursday, October 4th. But you needn’t to wait long as adidas is currently offering pre-order purchase on its online store starting today.
