Rocking an aggressive body kit, quad tailpipes, and 18-inch wheels, the 2013 Audi S3 Sportback is clearly the German automaker’s biggest push yet into the premium compact car market. Underneath the hood and attached to one of Audi’s latest and lightest body frame platforms, the MQB, is a turbocharged 2.0-liter TFSI four cylinder engine that powers the S3 up to about 300-hp. An all-wheel-drive system will distribute this power to all of the wheels through either the standard manual trans or the optional S-tronic dual-clutch automated system. On the outside, the S3 doesn’t look too much different than the 5-door A3 save for a more curvaceous front grille, roof spoiler, and quad tailpipes. Unlike many hatch-backs, the S3 looks just as sporty as any other Audi on the market, which is good news for buyers looking for the functionality without any of the sympathetic looks from strangers. The only problem with this one is that there are currently no plans for the S3 to come to the U.S., just Europe beginning in 2013 at around $37,000.
