CONVERSE x MISSONI Archive Project

This is quite an undertaking, even for a company as large as CONVERSE or as famous as MISSONI. As an extension to its ongoing CONVERSE x MISSONI collaborative project, both labels will be presenting 20 one-of-a-kind sneakers at the Parisian boutique, colette, this Friday to mark the start of Paris Fashion Week. Part of the CONVERSE First String Collection, each of the 20 pairs, an even mix of 10 Auckland Racers and 10 Pro Leather Mids, bears “deadstock” MISSONI fabric from its own archives, with some dated as far back as 1994. Accompanying the collection will be a towering sculpture in MISSONI fabrics and a resemblance of a star, symbolic of the partnership by London-based artist Gary Card. Each of the pairs will also include a hand-numbered hardcover book about the project, bound in the same terracotta canvas that lines all the designs.

The CONVERSE x MISSONI Archive Project goes on sale this Friday, September 28th, at colette. Sizing runs from US 5 – 12 with a suggested retail price of EU€ 400 or US$ 520 for each pair.
