Featuring 644 pages and over 300 captioned images, Archivio ’982 – ’012 is the definitive pictorial history of Stone Island‘s first 30 years. The volume was conceived by Simon Foxton and Nick Griffiths, the British creative duo behind Stone Island’s recent Stazione Leopolda 30th anniversary show in Florence. In addition to a foreword by Stone Island creative director Carlo Rivetti, there’s an essay — “Thirty Years of Stone Island and the Challenge Facing New Italian-Style Business” by Italian sociologist and journalist Francesco Morace. But the real treat for fans of the brand is the collection of 307 of photos showcasing Stone Island’s garments, some of which have never left the company archives. Weighing in at 6kg and packaged in its own cardboard carrying case, Archivio will be available soon through end clothing.
