After a long applause from the gathered industry insiders and tech journalists, Phil Schiller, the Senior Vice President at Apple, unveiled the Apple iPad Mini. Long expected as the next addition to its product line, the iPad Mini will be Apple’s answer to the fierce competition within the ever crowded tablet market. A display measured at 7.9-inch diagonally, the new device will weigh around .68 pound, or as much a legal pad. And with a thickness of only 7.2mm, its no thicker than a normal No. 2 pencil. From appearance, its just like a miniature version of the regular iPad, though Apple execs stressed otherwise. To optimize user’s experience, Apple’s lead designer Jonathan Ive, along with the rest of his and engineering team went back to the beginning. By carefully eliminating and upgrading components, such a thinner 0.2mm display glass, Apple was about to create the thinnest and lightest iPad to date. Quipped with a Dual Core A5 Processor, a FaceTime HD front facing camera, a 5 megapixel iSight Camera at the rear, and the new Lightning connector, the new Apple iPad Mini comes in White & Silver or Black & Slate colorways.
