For the brand’s latest project, Vans Syndicate drew on the services of Julien Stranger, a fixture in the world of skateboarding who founded Anti-Hero Skateboards in 1993. Since his early days, first glimpsed in the 1988 San Francisco skateboarding film “Sick Boys,” Julien has evinced an aversion to socks. Consequently, Vans Syndicate has built two of his favorite Vans styles — the Era Pro and Old Skool Pro — for wear without socks, featuring two footbed options. One is the Vans UltraCush Lite CMEVA for a more traditional feel, the other is a reversible and washable flat sheet Dri-Lex footbed for even longer lasting sockless comfort. Both shoe styles have an upper crafted from suede, with perforated suede at the quarter panels. The Era is finished in a two-tone Brown/Mustard colorway, the Old Skool in Navy/White.
