Benji Blunt x New Balance M1500 – 30 Years of Flimby Custom

By - October 29th, 2012

As part of the brand’s celebration of 30 years of manufacturing at its legendary Flimby factory, New Balance UK gifted custom sneaker artist Benji Blunt with a pair of premium 1500s from the Fall 2012 range, allowing him to work his magic on one of the most iconic NB silhouettes. Consequently, Benji flipped the color blocking while adding a number of unique details, highlighted by a Union Jack at the heel and Benji’s custom safari pattern on the mudguard. According to the artist, “To work with New Balance on this classic runner was great, a real honor. I wanted to utilize the Union Jack imagery I remember from the New Balance classics of my youth and represent the urban environment I grew up in, through the wording and detailing around the embroidered 1500.” Check out detailed looks in the gallery below.
