Nike Japan decided to unveil the special fabric design for the Nike Air Force 1 Bespoke this week, to coincide with Tokyo Designers Week 2012. One of the displays set up at the annual design event is an exhibition focusing on works by Ito Jakuchu, an influential Japanese painter from the mid-Edo period. This Chrysanthemum design takes inspiration from the paintings of Ito, and it was designed by Airside Nippon – who also served as director of the above-mentioned exhibition. The chrysanthemum is a symbolic flora in Japan, representing their imperial family and shrines. This bespoke treatment is only available from NIKEiD during the Bespoke Session that will be set up inside the Tokyo Designers Week 2012.
