Fans noted on January 1st, 2010, Chris Cornell, former frontman for the band Soundgarden, tweeted “The 12-year break is over and school is back in session. Sign up now. Knights of the Soundtable ride again!” Thus, marked the return of Soundgarden, a band of a pivotal role importance during the 1990s grunge rock scene of Seattle. Re-energized by the outpouring supports from their fans, Soundgarden went to work on brand new materials. The result is “King Animal,” first new album by the band in more than 15 years.
Ahead of the album’s launch, designers at CONVERSE decided to reacquaint music lovers with a special Soundgarden edition Chuck Taylor All Star Ox. Featuring the album cover art of “King Animal”, screen printed on an all-black canvas upper. Towards the aft of the sneaker, the new Soundgarden logo in white doubles as a seal of approval. Retails for US$ 65 with a unisex size run from 6 to 13, CONVERSE only made 60 pairs of these fans collectables.
