Leave it to New Balance to drop a hot, summertime kind of silhouette right as the winter begins to dig in its heels, especially when these are made in factories in Maine and Massachusetts where we get some of our most bitter cold weather. Digging into the details of this release, we see the M998GR built with a primarily grey suede upper with touches of mesh paneling and a heel cup stabilizing things at the back. The addition of black felt on the heel also doesn’t go unnoticed, which matches the outsole, providing a nice contrast against the burgundy accents, white inner liner, and ABZORB midsole underneath. Tonal laces and NB and series branding on the tongue finish the look. You can check for these at your local New Balance retailer or head directly to Crooked Tongues to buy them directly.
