In the midst of free flowing alcohol, pulsing remix, and a cast of good friends, Casio G-Shock opened its newest flagship store in New York City last night. Part of G-Shock 30th Anniversary initiative and the first of such retail space in the US, the store was somewhat of a homecoming for G-Shock as well since it occupied the same spot where a Baby-G store used to be some 15 years ago. On West Broadway in the trendy neighborhood of SoHo and right next door to the Billionaire Boys Club boutique, the new store will be offering a wide range of Casio G-Shock products along with exclusive, hard-to-find editions. On the store’s upper level is a gallery space, with a rotation of special exhibitions such as the Eric Haze’s artworks currently on display.
Among the party goers and invited guests were hip-hop mogul Russel Simmons, long time G-Shock collaborator artist Eric Haze, Dee & Ricky, BMX rider Nigel Sylvester, fashion designer Kevin “Saer” Leong, Details Magazine ‘s Eugene Tong, Lovebug Starski, Panama, 40oz Van, Manero, Japancakes and Shigenori Itoh, CEO of Casio America. The event also served as an impromptu farewell party for the company’s Global Marketing Manager, Tadashi Shibuya, who was instrumental in G-Shock’s countless collaborative projects.
You will find the new Casio G-Shock Flagship Store on 454 West Broadway in the SoHo neighborhood of New York City.
