Following our own unveiling of the highly anticipated 28th shoe in the Air Jordan franchise, we now reveal the official images courtesy of Jordan Brand. The Air Jordan XX8, designed by the legendary Tinker Hatfield, is the lightest and most tested Air Jordan ever, boasting more technological advances than any of its predecessors. The foremost feature is the Jordan Flight Plate, a Pebax moderator plate that maximizes the responsiveness of the Nike Zoom units through compression and deflection of the airbags in the forefoot and heel. Dynamic Fit technology in the form internal straps wrap up the midsole, integrating with the laces for lightweight support that moves with the foot, delivering lockdown support and comfort. A molded external heel counter crafted from carbon fiber provides additional lightweight support, while a multidirectional outsole pattern ensures superior traction and durability. Finally, a stretch synthetic shroud, built with a Swiss fabric known as Schoeller mesh, is good for support, stability and a sleek aesthetic. The Air Jordan XX8 is set to release in Houston, Texas, on February 15th — coinciding with the start of the NBA 2013 All-Star Game weekend — followed by a nationwide release the following day.
