With a select group media and press from every corner of the world accounted for, Jordan Brand officially unveiled the new Air Jordan XX8 an hour ago at Skylight West Studio here in New York City. MC by the b-ball's #1 fan, director Spike Lee, the venue saw not just media representation but New York Knicks Carmelo Anthony, Team Jordan's newest member, OKC's Russell Westbrook, and legendary designer, Tinker Hatfield. But the star of the event would be the new Air Jordan XX8 (28), a drastic departure in design by Jordan Brand. Influenced by Nike SFB and the concept of stealth, the shoe is both a 8-inch high boot, with a roll-top element in order for it to be a mid-cuff basketball shoe as well. Zoom Air cushioning unit, along with a Flight Plate carbon fiber bridge between forefoot and aft, this is the most technically advance basketball sneaker by Jordan Brand to date. In addition, fans in New York will get the opportunity to see it in action tomorrow night on Westbrook when Oklahoma City Thunder take on the Brooklyn Nets at Barclay Center.
