Celebrating Jean Todt’s long career in the world of auto racing, timepiece artisan Richard Mille recently completed another masterpiece of his, the RM 036 Tourbillon G-Sensor Limited Edition Jean Todt. Manufactured through exceptional craftsmanship, it includes Mille’s own RM036 caliber, a tourbillon movement comprised premium components such grade 5 titanium bridges and skeletonized baseplate in carbon nano fiber. Thanks to its free spung variable interia balance, the movement is somewhat isolated from shock and able to maintain accurate time keeping despite conditions. As a way to highlight Todt’s effort in promoting road safety through his various initiative, Richard Mille added a secondary complication, a mechanical g-force sensor. Developed by Renaud Papi and exclusively for Richard Mille, the sensor will translate the amount of G-Force experienced into a readable green to red scale at the 12 o’clock position. All housed in a tonneau shaped enclosure made from lightweight titanium. As part of Richard Mille’s special collection for SIHH 2013, only 15 units will be available starting in January 2013.
