French artist Genevieve Gaucker was asked by Art & Sole to join in on their series of specially commissioned screenprints, which demonstrate the deeper side of our footwear. Entitled Elevation, this piece was produced on metallic silver paper and is meant to represent the split second right before take-off – the place? Well, Gaucker leaves that up to us, but no matter the situation you have to be ready to discover new things, but also feel grounded in your roots to keep some perspective. And that’s where the high-top sneakers come in: not only are they very protective, but, in this piece, they represent the reality of our path and the need to remember where we come from. More looks at Genevieve’s work, which is limited to only 50 prints, is after the jump. If you’re interested in buying, visit Art & Sole’s online shop here.
