Originally introduced during the late ’80s, the New Balance 574 became an instant classic, featuring a leather upper with strategically placed support around the toe and midfoot. The shoe was built on a last that accommodated wide-footed runners, with enhanced stability and shock absorption courtesy of New Balance’s new ENCAP technology. This upcoming trio of 574 styles is built to those original specs, but showcase colorways that hark back to an even earlier era — namely, the 1970s, when the flower power movement was in full swing. The kicks use premium suede and breathable mesh across the upper, finished in soft red, blue or yellow hues. They’re available now in-store at size? locations, with an online release scheduled for this Friday, December 21st.
