Legends are not typically created overnight, yet the Skyline GTs - made by Prince Motor Company before its acquisition by Nissan - became a legend during a single race in 1964. It was a GT-II race in the Suzuka Circuit where the Skyline would show its might against the race favorite, the Porsche 904 Carrera GTS. In the seventh lap, the Skyline overtook the 904 Carrera GTS, proving its potential as the Japanese crowd went wild. It was, however, the German sports car that would take the lead in the next lap and take home the win. Although the Skyline did not come out on top, this legendary race sparked the fire in the Japanese company to develop the R380 Series, which eventually claimed the Grand Prix position after just two years. Skyline fans and automotive enthusiasts should watch the full documentary underneath to get a glimpse of history in the making.
