Roland Sands Design x Technics – Harley-Davidson Sportster Custom Motorcycle | Video

After a few teasers back in September, motorcycle builder Roland Sands finally unveiled his project with DJ equipment manufacturer Technics. Both as an exhibition and advertising centerpiece, the Roland Sands Design x Technics – Custom Motorcycle is a modified version of the popular Sportster Iron 883 model by Harley-Davidson. Completely striped down to its crucial components, Sands and his team built the bike back up with original designed parts, all based on two Technics products – the DH1-1200 headphones and SL-1200MK2 turntables. Approaching the process with balanced point-of-view from conception to the final product, Sands was able to construct a bike with utmost relevancy to performance. Yet, there are plenty of whimsical elements, like the turntable-like wheels. Finally, to test out all of the bike’s functions, Technics invited Nitro Circus‘ motocross racer Andy Bell for a baptism ride across the desert plain and Sweatpants Media to document the event…
